Acanthoscurria brocklehursti – Brazilian Black and White Tarantula

Brazilian Black & White (Acanthoscurria Brocklehursti) is a terrestrial tarantula. It is a fast grower and can reach a legspan of 7-9″ and the females can live up to 15 years in captivity. It prefers a temperature range of 80 to 85 °F (29 °C), and a humidity range of 70 to 80%. They make an impressive display tarantula because they do not burrow much and are not heavy webbers. They are defensive and will flick its urticating hairs from its abdomen using its hind legs which can be quite irritating. They are aggressive eaters that like to consume insects such as crickets, butter, meal or super worms, and cockroaches.
